The man at the crossroads / 1933
One of the most controversial paintings of Diego Rivera
In 1933 the painter was hired by magnate John D. Rockefeller Jr. to do a mural in the lobby of the RCA building.
D. Rivera painted this beautiful play "The man at the crossroads"
In 1934 he returned to painting the mural in Mexico and now this painting is on the third floor of the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico.
Creation / 1922
Made in 1922, this was the first mural by Diego Rivera.
The work was performed in the amphitheater of the National Preparatory School.
According to the painter Diego Rivera, the wall covered with religious symbols, is about "the origins of science and the arts. A kind of condensed version of the material facts of Humanity "
The expansion of his fame led to Rivera during the 1930 to exhibit his paintings in New York, and was commissioned to carry out large murals at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Rockefeller Center of N. York, where its cool "Man at the Crossroads" was widely criticized by the similarity of the features of one of his figures with Lenin ..

Diego Rivera, in simplified forms and bright color, beautifully rescued Columbian past, as the most significant moments in Mexican history: the land, the peasants and workers, customs, and the popular character.
The contribution of the work of Diego Rivera modern Mexican art was decisive in murals and easel paintings, was a revolutionary painter looking to bring art to the public, to the streets and buildings, driving a precise and direct language with a style realistic, full of social content.
